Position: Patient Case Manager
Location: Johannesburg, South Africa.
Reporting to: Head – Medical Assistance & Case Management / Claims Manager.

Position Overview:
The Patient Case Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient management of medical cases, working closely with healthcare providers, insurance teams, and patients to facilitate seamless care. This role requires a strong medical background, analytical skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and manage medical cases efficiently
- Coordinate treatment plans with healthcare providers
- Ensure seamless patient care and cost-effective solutions
- Liaise with insurers, hospitals, and medical teams.
Qualifications & experience
- Formal clinical qualification, preferably an enrolled or registered nurse with Intensive Care Unit (ICU) experience.
- Experience with the creation and maintenance of protocols, treatment plans, and clinical auditing.
- Working knowledge of the domestic and international private medical insurance landscape.
- Experience with healthcare administration in the medical insurance space would be advantageous.
- Experience with medical service provider engagements.
- Confidence and assertiveness to deal and negotiate with healthcare service providers in assessing the quality, necessity, and price of healthcare treatment and provision.
